JANMSHTAMI CELEBRATION (Aug’19)
Lord Krishna is the one of the most loved Gods of the Hindu religion. His teachings on various aspects of human life to Arjuna during the epic battle of Mahabharata are world famous and widely accepted and followed. To imbibe his teachings in everyone’s life and to understand the importance of glorifying Indian traditions with the young generation, SRPS celebrated Janmashtami on 23.08.19, the students were dressed up as Radha and Krishna, gave a traditional touch to the entire celebration. Handi was hanging at the center of the courtyard and beautiful jhankis were also organized which captured everyone’s attention . To add to the celebrations Radha-Krishna pairs danced to bhajans and devotional songs. Classes were also decorated with the dahi handis , flute and Krishna crown made by students multiplied the festive mood.
After the celebration , students were made aware that Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu; led a simple life and showed us the path for a happy living. His teachings are simple yet meaningful; they when incorporated in our daily life bring both happiness, success and peace.
Such practices infuse within students, respect of their culture; they absorb the significance of different festivals and as a result, imbibe the value system to become a good citizens.
